We're about to start internal testing of our first level very soon. We'll be showing you some media from that as soon as we can!

nice job, sure...but it's so strange that you talk about details before talking about the gameplay, or the status of the game development...
I think that everybody has now understood that the game will be beautiful, but there are so many beautiful games boring to play and so many
TO & AOT Fans deceived by the last TO remake, TO Crossfire (and not because of graphical quality...), that you should understand why so much
people are waiting for more news on the game itself and not the (again and again) "beautifulness" of the graphical elements...
we (poor TO fans) would just want more...so hard to wait

its not strange digad. You need building blocks to build a house with. You cannot show the house if you dont have the building blocks. What weve been seeing so far is pieces that are gonna be put together. The gameplay never needed any discussion, it's gonna be like TO, in a new jacket.
I do agree with the lack of info on the status of the game development, but thats been discussed a couple of months ago. As long as we dont see videos or trailers, its gonna take many many more months of development anyway, so no need to be impatient even if thats hard. ^^

is toc gameplay so bad?
yeah i know, some bullets/sure hits dont get registered, but when i play TOC i get the TO2.2 feeling back a bit (which is positive).

yes, that was the major problem...and shoting problems in a shoting game is a little bit annoying i believe...

tbh, no one gives a cr*p 'bout shiny mapobstacles. FYI, that's one of the many mayor reasons why TO:C failed. If you want to build a (competitive) FPS keep in mind: Gameplay comes FIRST! And as by now, no one rly got a peek at whats the gameplay gonna look & feel like. Especially when u r aiming at former AOT & TOC ppl (lets face it, that's gonna be the first, and probably only audience u'll find playn ur game)
So get your priorities straight and show stuff that matters and stop stalling.
kthxbye (:
edit: i should have read the other comments. Nvm the harsh words.

i find toc gameplay not so bad (once you know what the limitations are, you can play a bit better)
Tell me in words: WHAT is wrong with the gameplay
loose sentences like "gameplay is bad" are just oneliners with no arguments at al.. (i want to know
)

sure, we just gave feelings...we never said we were disapointed or angry...we are just fully interested by your project, for sure !
and having feelings from users during a development is good for developpers, it's the best way to see how to make TA the
most succesful as possible...I am a developer too, and I know that ^^ it's better than release a product far from what users
were waiting for, and making it born-dead like so many "professional" games that cost sometimes thousand of dollars

BTW: everyone checking this page must think, this is a screenshot contest... I'm honestly sorry but whoever is in charge of the pr does is a pain in the ass and does a pretty bad job...
Haven't you learned out of the massive complaints about those boring Mapscreenshotnews?!?! You all know that we do appreciate your work! What I'm doing is nothing else then showing that i do care about this project and after such a long period things haven't changed...
As far as I can think back the last new stuff I heared about TA was when I FIRST looked on this hp. Since then there have just been announcements about maps, modelpics etc. That's nerdy-nerd-1/18killstats-player-bullshit! Those happy tree friends may care about knowing how many nicely designed maps look like and which great models are in their as they won't do much more with the game than having trouble walking straight while watching those nice models. Those player are nice for filling up the public servers but we - the competetive players - we are dying of information thirst...
Look how long it took to get the twitterbox and then take a long when the last entry of you had been done...
I don't complain about you or how fast/slow you are getting TA to be finished. I just say that you do some mistakes ...

Trust me, we get it. You want in-game footage, gameplay media etc etc. But like we've said time and again - these are the types of things that can't be shown until they're polished. We don't want to show you maps until the lighting is done, or gameplay until the HUD is bug-free because all that will achieve is a community that thinks we haven't put 100% into making the best game we can.
Sit tight, gameplay is on it's way.

so we also like to know some tech stuff how far is say the physical walking ingame etc etc..
I suggest a media release with some form of list/story,
what is done and only needs tweaking?
How is the recoil comming allong?
what are problems you run into that need to solved in the next couple of months?

I'm no programmer so I'm not sure how the recoil is coming. The animations we have showed do not take into account the recoil as that is added in the engine. From my newbie opinion - the guns feel awesome in game.
Probably the biggest hurdle we're having to overcome now is the remaking of the maps. The UDK, even though it's great, really threw us out of whack. We've had to create so many assets and we're only now getting close to finishing some playable maps. As far as I know, Deadlock is having it's lighting made at the moment. John is also implementing a fully kismeted music system that will be completely non-linear and have some AWESOME features that are above and beyond what most indie games, nay - all games, are currently doing.
I'll ask Proto to swing by and answer what I can't
How's that?
